Why choose Craft Psychology?The name Craft Psychology conjures up ideas of the skillful creation of something. This applies to the art of therapeutic relationships, questions and conversations. It also speaks to the magical ways people craft stories of resistance, perseverance and love within their lives. We also like to take up creative ways to understanding problems and standing against them.

How much does a session cost and how do I pay?Fees are consistent with the fee guide recommended by Psychology Association of Alberta, at 50 minute session $220. If you require a sliding scale please be in touch and we can discuss the options. ​ Most insurance and benefit plans cover psychology services, if you are uncertain please check with your provider. Particular benefit providers can be direct billed. ​ Cash, e-transfer, credit and debit payment are accepted. Payment is expected at the time of the appointment and a receipt will be issued. ​ A good fit is a key ingredient to helpful therapy - We offer a free 20-minute free phone or live consultation to check this out.

How often will my sessions be?This is a conversation you and your practitioner will have based on your hopes and the struggles you are experiencing. We hope to get you back into living your life as quickly as we can.

Who will my therapist be?The Craft Psychology team is growing and welcoming additional therapists. Each person shares an ethic to centre a person's lived experience, but with a unique twist. We will do our best to accommodate requests for particular therapists when caseloads allow.

What will my involvement be as a parent?If you are a parent or caregiver bringing a young person to counselling, we will have a conversation about confidentiality, communication and information sharing to ensure that the young person's right to confidentiality is being met alongside a parent/caregiver's hopes to be supportive and gain understanding.

What can I expect the first session?The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other a little bit. You can expect a conversation about your rights as a client and my responsibilities as your counsellor. The first session is the time for you to share your concerns and the things you've been up against alongside your hopes and imaginations for our conversations and your life.

Where is your office and where do I park?Our office is located in the Sunalta Business Centre in Calgary, second floor, #2005, 10th Ave. Once you have an appointment scheduled you will be emailed more detailed information. There is free street parking along 19th Street and along 10th Ave. Parking along the East side of the business center is available when not marked otherwise. We are located a few blocks from the Sunalta C-Train station.

Is your space accessible?Unfortunately the office has a number of stairs making it inaccessible to folks with mobility challenges. We are able to offer a phone or virtual session or secure a different space if given enough time in advance.
